Awais Khan is a TED speaker and the award-winning author of NO HONOUR, IN THE COMPANY OF STRANGERS and the forthcoming SOMEONE LIKE HER. He is a graduate of The University of Western Ontario and Durham University. He has studied creative writing at Faber Academy in London. He has delivered lectures and talks at Oxford University, Durham University, American University of Dubai, Canadian University of Dubai to name a few and he regularly appears on television and radio. He has been a judge for several high profile writing competitions in the UK and has appeared on BBC World, Voice of America, Dubai Eye and other such platforms.
Talkshop Description:
Publishing is booming in the West but Pakistan still struggles to support its authors. However, not all is lost as even in the face of adversity, authors do flourish. This talkshop aims to discuss aspects of creative writing and how they can be used to help aspiring authors stand out in an industry that has zero concern for authors.
